| dc.description | Obesity is an epidemic, and childhood obesity is the great public health problem of the 21st century whose prevalence is increasing alarmingly in developed countries; however, this has not become alien to our reality as a third world country, this chronic disease favors the early onset of chronic pathologies such as cardiovascular and endocrine diseases and maintains its prevalence in adulthood. OBJECTIVE: To determine if excessive weight gain during pregnancy and the duration of breastfeeding are factors that increase the risk of obesity in children under 5 years of age at Hospital Belén de Trujillo during the period from February to September 2020. METHODOLOGY: Observational, analytical, retrospective study of cases and controls. Review of medical records of children under 5 years of age seen during the period from February to September 2020 in outpatient pediatric clinics at Hospital Belén de Trujillo. The sample size would be 62 obese children (cases) and 124 children with normal weight (controls). IMPORTANCE: There is evidence in other areas of this association between excessive weight gain during pregnancy and the risk of obesity in the offspring and that the practice of breastfeeding could prevent the onset of obesity in the medium and long term, but there is no studies in our environment that relate excessive weight gain during pregnancy, the performance of SCI and its duration with the presence of obesity in children; therefore, understanding the appearance of obesity in childhood can offer opportunities to improve health at all ages and even in the mother during her pregnancy and lactation period, which is why it is necessary to establish preventive promotional actions in the mother and child. if this relationship is established between gestational weight gain, the duration of breastfeeding and obesity in children under five years of age. | es_PE |
| dc.description.abstract | La obesidad es una epidemia, y la obesidad infantil el gran problema de salud pública del siglo XXI cuya prevalencia aumenta de forma alarmante en los países desarrollados, sin embargo, esto no se ha vuelto ajena a nuestra realidad como país del tercer mundo, esta enfermedad crónica favorece al inicio temprano de patologías crónicas como enfermedades cardiovasculares y endocrinas y mantener su prevalencia en la edad adulta. OBJETIVO: Determinar si la ganancia excesiva de peso durante la gestación y la duración de la lactancia materna son factores que incrementan el riesgo de obesidad en niños menores de 5 años en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo durante el periodo comprendido febrero a setiembre del 2020. METODOLOGÍA: Estudio observacional, analítico, retrospectivo de casos y controles. Revisión de historias clínicas de niños menores de 5 años atendidos durante el periodo comprendido entre febrero a setiembre del 2020 en consultorios externos de pediatría del Hospital Belén de Trujillo. El tamaño muestral seria 62 niños obesos (casos) y 124 niños con peso normal (controles). IMPORTANCIA: Existen evidencias en otros ámbitos de esta asociación entre el aumento excesivo de peso durante el embarazo y el riesgo de obesidad de la descendencia y de que la práctica de la lactancia materna podría prevenir la aparición obesidad a medio y largo plazo, pero no existen estudios en nuestro medio que relacionen ganancia excesiva de peso durante la gestación, la realización de LM y su duración con la presencia de obesidad en niños; por lo que comprender la aparición de la obesidad en la infancia puede ofrecer oportunidades para mejorar la salud en todas las edades e incluso en la madre durante su embarazo y periodo de lactancia, por lo que es necesario establecer acciones preventivo promocionales en la madre y niño si se establece esta relación entre aumento de peso gestacional, la duración de la lactancia materna y la obesidad en niños menores de cinco años. | es_PE |
