dc.description.abstractEste estudio se enfocó en evaluar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre el Virus del Papiloma Humano (VPH) y la actitud hacia su vacunación en madres de niñas menores, en el contexto del Centro de Salud "La Colmena" en Guayaquil. El objetivo principal fue determinar cómo el conocimiento sobre el VPH influye en la actitud de las madres hacia la vacunación de sus hijas, considerando la importancia de la prevención del cáncer cervicouterino. La muestra consistió en 108 madres, seleccionadas a través de un muestreo probabilístico. La metodología empleada incluyó la administración de cuestionarios para medir el nivel de conocimiento y la actitud hacia la vacuna del VPH, complementados con la recolección de datos sociodemográficos. Se utilizó el software SPSS versión 27 para el análisis estadístico, aplicando pruebas de chi-cuadrado y la correlación de V de Cramer. Los resultados mostraron que la mayoría de las madres poseían un conocimiento deficiente sobre el VPH (59.26%), aunque un 48.15% presentó una actitud positiva hacia la vacunación. Se identificó una correlación significativa entre el nivel de instrucción y el conocimiento sobre el VPH, así como entre el nivel de ingreso y la actitud hacia la vacunación. En conclusión, el estudio resalta la necesidad de intervenciones educativas y de comunicación efectiva para mejorar el conocimiento sobre el VPH y fomentar actitudes positivas hacia la vacunación, destacando el papel esencial de la enfermería en estas iniciativas.
dc.description.abstractThis study focused on evaluating the relationship between the level of knowledge about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the attitude towards its vaccination in mothers of young girls, in the context of the "La Colmena" Health Center in Guayaquil. The main objective was to determine how knowledge about HPV influences mothers' attitudes towards vaccinating their daughters, considering the importance of cervical cancer prevention. The sample consisted of 108 mothers, selected through probabilistic sampling. The methodology employed included the administration of questionnaires to measure the level of knowledge and attitude towards the HPV vaccine, complemented with the collection of sociodemographic data. SPSS software version 27 was used for statistical analysis, applying chi-square tests and V de Cramer's correlation. The results showed that the majority of mothers had poor knowledge about HPV (59.26%), although 48.15% showed a positive attitude towards vaccination. A significant correlation was identified between the level of education and knowledge about HPV, as well as between income level and attitude towards vaccination. In conclusion, the study highlights the need for educational interventions and effective communication to improve knowledge about HPV and foster positive attitudes towards vaccination, emphasizing the essential role of nursing in these initiatives.
