Abstract
Abstract Non-melanoma skin cancer currently has a great impact worldwide due to the immeasurable increase in the number of cases, becoming a major problem in the field of public health in Peru, where the high rates of ultraviolet radiation due to our location close to the equator, in addition to the deterioration of the ozone layer, influence its development. There is scarce data about the clinical and epidemiological aspect of skin cancer in our country, the profile of its appearance in our type of population, the current data on its incidence are obtained from neighboring countries, which is why we consider it useful to determine these characteristics for the realization of screening and early detection, avoid morbidity and improve the quality of life of our inhabitants. Objectives: Describe the clinical and epidemiological aspects of non-melanoma skin cancer in patients treated at the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo during the period between 2020-2022. Methodology: A descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional and non-experimental study will be carried out. To determine the sample size, non-probabilistic sampling is used where all the medical records of patients with a histopathological diagnosis of non-melanoma skin cancer treated at the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo during 2020-2022 will be taken. The data will be analyzed using the SPSS v28 statistical package.
