Abstract
Abstract Despite notable advances in the field of Anesthesiology in recent decades, there is a significant lack of understanding within society regarding this domain. Objective: The purpose of this project is to highlight the relationship between sociodemographic factors and the knowledge of surgical patients concerning the anesthesiological function. Methodology: Within the framework of this study, a knowledge test, previously validated using the Kuder Richardson test, will be conducted. The obtained results will be processed using the statistical software SPSS version 25.0. Results: It is anticipated that the majority of participants in this study will lack knowledge regarding the roles of anesthesiologists, their functions during the intraoperative and postoperative periods, as well as the distinct discipline of anesthesiology. Conclusion: The findings of this study not only contribute to a clearer understanding of the current public perception of Anesthesiology but also open the possibility of replicating this study in the future.
