Abstract
El tiempo de pantalla recreativo y de tipo sedentaria aumentó después de las restricciones por la COVID-19; lo que llevó a un impacto negativo en el estilo de vida, sobre todo en población infantil.
Objetivo: Determinar la relación del tiempo de pantalla con la calidad de sueño y hábitos alimentarios en escolares de Laredo-Trujillo, 2022.
Materiales y métodos: Estudio analítico relacional transversal y prospectivo. Se aplicó un cuestionario virtual que incluyó el test de Calidad de Sueño de Pittsburgh (PSQI) de 19 preguntas, el test de Krece Plus de 15 ítems y, preguntas sobre el tiempo de pantalla, los cuales fueron dirigidas a los padres de familia y/o tutores de escolares de 6 a 11 años.
Resultados: El 28% presentó tiempo de pantalla excesivo, el 42%, una mala calidad de sueño (>= 5 puntos) y el 25.7%, malos hábitos alimentarios (=< 5 puntos).
Conclusiones: Existe relación significativa (p< 0.01) entre el tiempo excesivo de pantalla recreativo y de tipo sedentaria con la mala calidad de sueño y malos hábitos alimentarios en escolares de 6 a 11 años de Laredo-Trujillo.
Abstract Recreational and sedentary screen time increased after COVID-19 restrictions; which led to a negative impact on lifestyle, especially in the child population. Objective: Determine the relationship between screen time and sleep quality and eating habits in schoolchildren from Laredo-Trujillo, 2022. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional and prospective relational analytical study. A virtual questionnaire was applied that included the 19-question Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Test (PSQI), the 15-item Krece Plus test, and questions about screen time, which were directed to parents and/or parents. or tutors of schoolchildren from 6 to 11 years old. Results: 28% had excessive screen time, 42% had poor sleep quality (>= 5 points) and 25.7% had bad eating habits (=< 5 points). Conclusions: There is a significant relationship (p < 0.01) between excessive recreational and sedentary screen time with poor sleep quality and poor eating habits in schoolchildren aged 6 to 11 years from Laredo-Trujillo.
