Abstract
Abstract The main objective of this work was to improve fleet control in the Arco Iris Express S.A. Transport Company, by means of a web-based maintenance management system. This system was designed following the OOHDM methodology, complying with the five development phases. The web system followed a client-server architecture and the tools used were ReactJS (client) and NodeJS (server). The purpose of the system was to: increase timely access to information related to the purchase of fuel for the owners of the combis, reduce the number of incidents related to maintenance not performed as scheduled, and reduce the average time from identification of the need for refuelling to the purchase of supplies needed for the maintenance of the combis. The approach of this research was pre-experimental, with a pretest-posttest design. Data collection was carried out using validation instruments, a survey and two record cards. The results obtained were favourable and the null hypothesis was rejected for each objective. The management system increased by 44% the timely access to fuel purchase information, reduced the incidences of maintenance not performed as scheduled and significantly decreased the average time between the identification of refuelling and the purchase of consumables
