Optimización del uso de Trastuzumab 440mg en el Hospital de Alta Complejidad “Virgen de la Puerta”, febrero - diciembre 2017

dc.descriptionCancer is the process of uncontrolled growth and spread of cells in the body, and it can be located anywhere in the body. Every year the cases increase. Among the most frequent types of cancer in women, we have the cervix and breast. For the treatment of breast cancer, the stage of the disease must be taken into account. Trastuzumab is one of the drugs of choice for targeted therapy treatment in breast cancer, it tests positive when cancer cells have high levels of a protein called human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). Trastuzumab binds to the HER2 protein and blocks the receptor. This prevents cells from dividing and growing abnormally. The report evaluated the optimization of the use of Trastuzumab 440mg in the Hospital de Alta Complexidad "Virgen de la Puerta" (HACVP), in the months of February-December 2017. Data on the consumption and return of Trastuzumab 440mg were taken by the Mixtures Unit Oncology (UMO), to Supervised Drug Pharmacy (MACS); The information was compiled from the database of the Hospital Management System (SGH), of the HACVP Pharmacy Service. The results obtained during the investigation period show that the UMO generated a total remainder of 146 units of Trastuzumab 440mg that represent an economic value of 759 251.10 soles; being the month of August where the greatest savings were generated, with 17 units of Trastuzumab returned by the UMO to the MACS Pharmacy, which represent 88,406.00 soles. The percentage of savings expressed in soles is 22.37%. On the other hand, it was found that the trend of savings by the UMO, is slightly negative with a coefficient of determination of Pearson (R2) of 0.1056. It is concluded that, during the study period, the use of trastuzumab was optimized; being the UMO service, one of the areas where great economic savings are generatedes_PE
dc.description.abstractEL cáncer es el proceso de crecimiento y diseminación incontrolado de células en el cuerpo, y puede ubicarse en cualquier parte de él. Cada año los casos se incrementan. Dentro de los tipos de cáncer más frecuentes en mujeres, tenemos el de cérvix y de mama. Para el tratamiento de cáncer de mama, se debe tener en cuenta el estadio de la enfermedad. El trastuzumab es uno de los medicamentos de elección, para el tratamiento con terapia dirigida en cáncer de mama, da un resultado positivo cuando las células cancerosas tienen altos niveles de una proteína llamada receptor 2 del factor de crecimiento epidérmico humano (HER2). Trastuzumab se acopla a la proteína HER2 y bloquea el receptor. Esto evita que las células se dividan y crezcan de manera anormal. El informe evaluó los resultados de optimización del uso de Trastuzumab 440 mg en el Hospital de Alta Complejidad “Virgen de la Puerta” (HACVP), en los meses de febrero-diciembre 2017. Se tomaron datos del consumo y devolución de Trastuzumab 440 mg por la Unidad de Mezclas Oncológicas (UMO), a Farmacia de Medicamentos Supervisados (MACS); la información fue recopilada de la base de datos del Sistema de Gestión Hospitalaria (SGH), del Servicio de Farmacia del HACVP. Los resultados obtenidos durante el período de la investigación muestran que la UMO generó un remanente total de 146 unidades de Trastuzumab 440mg que representan un valor económico de 759 251.10 soles; siendo el mes de agosto donde se generó mayor ahorro, con 17 unidades de Trastuzumab devueltos por la UMO a Farmacia de MACS, los cuales me representan 88406.00 soles. El porcentaje de ahorro expresado en soles es de 22.37%. Por otro lado, se encontró que la tendencia de ahorro por la UMO, se muestra ligeramente negativa con un coeficiente de determinación de Pearson (R2) de 0.1056. Se concluye que, durante el periodo de estudio, se logró optimizar el uso de trastuzumab; siendo el servicio de UMO, una de las áreas donde se genera un gran ahorro económico.es_PE
