Abstract
ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to study the chemical control of Prodiplosis longifila Gagné, in Lycopersicum esculentum Mill, Hybrid Ktya in Huanchaquito, La Libertad. The data was obtained through the application of surveys to farmers who grow in the study area. The main questions addressed were among others: insecticides that use, frequency, dose and number of applications, insecticide mixtures, costs of chemical control, production costs, yield. From the results obtained it is concluded that the farmers of Huanchaco each year increase the number of applications of insecticides to control Prodiplosis longifila Gagné, experienced a growth up to 20 applications in recent years, the frequency of application every 5 days. The average cost of chemical control for Prodiplosis longifila Gagné, in the tomato crop represents 52.03% of the total production cost that is 10 504. 00 soles, for the conditions of the rural area of Huanchaquito, with the yield reached in this area of 44 t / ha so the reduction of the production of the previous year was 61.6 t / ha. This is largely due to problems with Prodiplosis longifila Gagné, according to the surveys carried out on farmers.
