Abstract
(Armatocereus oligogonus, Hylocereus megalanthus y Hylocereus undatus).
Armatocereus oligogonus (Rauh) Backeb.
The objective of this research was to analyze the morphology, quantify total phenols, and evaluate the in vitro antioxidant capacity of three fruits from the Cactaceae family (Armatocereus oligogonus, Hylocereus megalanthus, and Hylocereus undatus). The species were collected in the village of Parrapos, Otuzco district, Otuzco province, then identified and deposited in the Herbarium Truxillense. The fruits were studied to determine their morphology. Additionally, a 96° GL ethanol extract was prepared by reflux, total phenols were quantified, and antioxidant capacity was evaluated using DPPH°. Total phenol concentrations were found to be 1.01 mg GAE/g DW for Armatocereus oligogonus, 1.95 mg GAE/g DW for Selenicereus megalanthus, and 2.36 mg GAE/g DW for Selenicereus undatus. Regarding antioxidant capacity, the 96° GL ethanol extract reported 0.5135 mg AAE/g DW for Selenicereus undatus, followed by 0.4208 mg AAE/g DW for Selenicereus megalanthus and 0.2867 mg AAE/g DW for Armatocereus oligogonus (Rauh) Backeb.
