Abstract
In this thesis report, we set out the purpose of determining how the multi-stakeholder approach contributes to the resolution of social conflicts and allows mining operational viability in the Caylloma district of the Arequipa Region. It is a basically qualitative work for which 22 actors participating in the work groups developed in the Caylloma district were interviewed. The presence of historical social conflicts related to mining activity in the Caylloma district was determined. However, they have decreased in level and frequency of their expressions. It was identified that the participation in the work groups meets the criteria established by the multi-stakeholder model, however, as is normal, it is still necessary to improve some aspects that allow to give a better shape to the processes that are worked on with the purpose of agreeing criteria on the mining activity in the study district. Also that the implementation of the multi-stakeholder model has contributed significantly to the reduction of conflicts, giving greater possibilities to mining activity.
