dc.descriptionThis research work on the "Use of antibacterials in the Department of Surgery "B" Regional Teaching Hospital Trujillo" was held with the objective of describing what are the characteristics of the use of antibacterials and thereby contribute to the rational use the same for which conducted a descriptive study, cross-sectional and prospective, taking population as a unit all medical records of patients hospitalized in sub-servicios neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, oncology and urology during the period January to March 2007. For determining the consumption of antimicrobial use is the method of Defined Daily Dose (DDD), the ATC classification, also making use of the methodology established by the MINSA for studies using drugs, reaching the following results: the cefazolin was the antibacterial that had the highest consumption (28.3 DDD / 100 cama-día) and generated by the increased spending (32.2%), in addition to 98% of patients were treated with at least one antibacterial and only 85 .5% of antibacterials used are considered at the request of the National Essential Drugs, finally was sub-servicio neurosurgery who had the highest (2.5) average antibacterials administered per patient. Therefore it is concluded that there are signs of inappropriate use of antibacterial in the Department of Surgery "B" HRDT which warrants more specific investigationses_ES
dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo de investigación sobre el “Uso de antibacterianos en el Servicio de Cirugía “B” del Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo” se llevó a cabo con el objetivo de describir cuales son las características de la utilización de antibacterianos y así contribuir al uso racional de los mismos, para lo cual se realizó un estudio descriptivo, de corte transversal y prospectivo, teniendo como unidad poblacional todas las historias clínicas de los pacientes hospitalizados en los sub-servicios de neurocirugía, traumatología, otorrinolaringología, oncología y urología durante el periodo de enero a marzo del 2007. Para la determinación del consumo de los antimicrobianos se empleó el método de la Dosis Diaria Definida (DDD), la clasificación ATC, y también la metodología establecida por el MINSA para estudios de utilización de medicamentos, llegando a los siguientes resultados: la cefazolina fue el antibacteriano que tuvo el mayor consumo (28.3 DDD/ 100 cama-día) y generó el mayor gasto (32.2%), además el 98% de pacientes fueron tratados con al menos un antibacteriano y solo el 85.5% de los antibacterianos utilizados están considerados en el Petitorio Nacional de Medicamentos Esenciales, finalmente fue el sub-servicio de neurocirugía quien tuvo el promedio más alto (2.5) de antibacterianos administrados por paciente. Por tanto se concluye que existen indicios de uso inadecuado de los antibacterianos en el Servicio de Cirugía “B” del HRDT lo cual amerita la realización de investigaciones más específicases_ES
