dc.descriptionThe purpose of this research was the knowledge of the reality of the coca leaf in the_x000D_ northern region of Peru during the first half of the 20th century. Detailing the reality of_x000D_ the cocaine manufacturers in the city of Trujillo, who they were, who they traded with,_x000D_ how they produced, how the cocaine factories were distributed in the city. In the same_x000D_ way, we will specify in what districts of the region, the cultivation and harvesting of_x000D_ coca leaves was carried out, we provide an analysis of the uses that were given to the_x000D_ unique type of coca of the northern zone and hho was the driving force of the coca_x000D_ harvest. The spiritual and religious significance of coca in the Andean world was_x000D_ studied, and also its profane variant, the coca chewing (boleo) on the northern sugar_x000D_ plantations. The final part explains the changes that occurred in the whole production of_x000D_ coca because of the establishment of the Coca State Monopoly (Estanco) under the_x000D_ pressure of the emerging anti-drug policies in the international political scene.es_PE
dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo tuvo como propósito, el conocimiento de la realidad de la hoja de_x000D_ coca en la región norte del Perú durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Puntualizado la_x000D_ realidad de los fabricantes de cocaína en ciudad de Trujillo, quiénes eran, con quienes_x000D_ comerciaban, cómo producían, cómo estaban distribuidas las fábricas de cocaína en la_x000D_ ciudad. Así mismo, revelaremos en qué áreas, en que fundos o haciendas se llevaba a_x000D_ cabo el cultivo y cosecha de hojas de coca en la región, analizar los usos que se le_x000D_ dieron al tipo de coca único y característico de la zona y quiénes dirigían esa_x000D_ producción. Se estudió el significado espiritual y religioso de la coca en el mundo_x000D_ andino y su variante profana, el boleo de la coca en las haciendas azucareras. En la parte_x000D_ final se explican los cambios que se produjeron en la producción de coca a causa del_x000D_ establecimiento del Estanco de la Coca, bajo la presión de las políticas antidrogas_x000D_ emergentes en el panorama político internacional.es_PE
