| dc.description | The present investigation was carried out in an Educational Institution of the Huamachuco district, whose objective was to determine the relationship between knowledge about the Human Papilloma Virus and attitudes towards this vaccine. It was a descriptive correlational and cross-sectional study; The population was made up of 60 mothers of schoolchildren in the 5th grade, to whom the questionnaire on the level of knowledge and a Likert-type scale for the attitudes variable were applied. To determine the correlation of variables, the chi-square statistical test was used. The results show that the level of knowledge of the mothers was predominantly high with 60.0%. Regarding attitudes, 65.0% of mothers showed an attitude of indifference. Most of the mothers surveyed, who know about the vaccine against the human papilloma virus, presented an attitude of acceptance, but at the same time indifference towards the application of the vaccine, like those with a medium level of knowledge, however, those with a low level of knowledge showed a total rejection. | dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación fue realizada en una Institución Educativa del distrito de Huamachuco, cuyo objetivo fue determinar la relación entre conocimiento sobre el Virus de Papiloma Humano y las actitudes hacia esta vacuna. Fue un estudio descriptivo correlacional y de corte transversal; la población estuvo conformada por 60 madres de escolares del 5° de primaria, a quienes se aplicó el cuestionario sobre nivel de conocimientos y una escala tipo Likert para la variable actitudes. Para determinar la correlación de variables se utilizó la prueba estadística chi-cuadrado. Los resultados muestran que el nivel de conocimientos de las madres fue predominantemente alto con un 60.0%. En cuanto a actitudes un 65,0% de madres, mostraron actitud de indiferencia. La mayoría de las madres encuestadas, que conocen acerca de la vacuna contra el virus del papiloma humano, presentaron una actitud de aceptación, pero a la vez indiferencia hacia la aplicación de la vacuna, al igual que las que tienen un nivel de conocimiento medio, sin embargo, quienes tienen nivel de conocimiento bajo mostraron un rechazo total.
