Abstract
El presente estudio de tipo cuantitativo, método descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal titulado “Apoyo familiar percibido y nivel de autoestima del adulto mayor del Hospital Distrital de Laredo”. Tuvo como objetivo establecer la relación entre el nivel de autoestima del adulto mayor con el apoyo familiar percibido en los miembros del programa de Adulto Mayor del Hospital Distrital de Laredo. El universo muestral estuvo conformado por 100 adultos mayores que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. Se utilizó como instrumento de recolección de datos dos escalas de valoración, diseñadas para medir las variables de acuerdo a la investigación, la escala de Rossenberg y la escala de Apoyo Socio - Familiar Percibido en Adultos Mayores. Los instrumentos se aplicaron de manera presencial, cuyo propósito fue determinar la relación que existe entre ambas variables, además, permitirá implementar estrategias para fortalecer las capacidades de los estudiantes de enfermería en el cuidado del adulto mayor y su entorno familiar. El procesamiento de los resultados se desarrolló con SPSS versión 27. Los datos fueron procesados usando métodos estadísticos descriptivos y los hallazgos se presentaron en tablas estadísticas descriptivas simples y de contingencias. Para determinar la relación entre las variables, se usó la prueba estadística de Rho de Spearman, y se llegó a la conclusión de que el 58% de adultos mayores presenta un nivel alto de autoestima, mientras que el 31% posee un nivel medio y el 11% un nivel bajo. Del mismo modo, el 54% presenta alto grado de apoyo familiar, el 35% posee moderado apoyo familiar y solo el 11% un nivel bajo. Concluyendo, se encontró una relación significativa entre el nivel de autoestima y el grado de apoyo familiar percibido del adulto mayor del Hospital Distrital de Laredo (p>0.001)
The present quantitative study, cross-sectional correlational descriptive method entitled “Perceived family support and level of self-esteem of the elderly at the Laredo District Hospital.” The objective was to establish the relationship between the level of self-esteem of the elderly with the family support perceived in the members of the Senior Adult program of the Laredo District Hospital. The sample universe was made up of 100 older adults who met the inclusion criteria. Two assessment scales were used as data collection instruments, designed to measure the variables according to the research, the Rossenberg scale and the Perceived Socio-Family Support in Older Adults scale. The instruments were applied in person, whose purpose was to determine the relationship that exists between both variables, in addition, it will allow the implementation of strategies to strengthen the capabilities of nursing students in caring for the elderly and their family environment. The processing of the results was developed with SPSS version 27. The data were processed using descriptive statistical methods and the findings were presented in simple descriptive statistical and contingency tables. To determine the relationship between the variables, Spearman's Rho statistical test was used, and it was concluded that 58% of older adults have a high level of self-esteem, while 31% have a medium level and the 11% a low level.
