| dc.description | The present study of investigation (research), of descriptive type correlacional, I realize in the educational institution “Garden N ° 100" of Huamachuco's District during the year 2009; with the purpose of determining the relation between (among) the level of mother knowledge on nourishment and nutritional condition (state) of the pre-school one. The sample universe was shaped by a whole of 122 mothers and his (her, your) respective pre-school ones. For the compilation of information two instruments were in use: he (she) polls to measure the level of mother knowledge on nourishment of the pre-school (EMNCMAP); and Tables of Nutritional Valuation Antropométrica of the Child and five-year-old minor Girl. The results appear in tables of classification of simple and double entry, the analysis of the relation between(among) the variables of study, I realize by means of the test(proof) of independence of criteria of the Chi Cuadrado (x2) and the test(proof) of Pearson's correlation. Of the analysis of the results he (she) concludes: 1. The level of maternal knowledge on nutrition in preschool children was medium to low with only 60.7 percent and 39.3 percent had a high knowledge. 2. The nutritional status of preschool children was normal with 62.3 percent, followed by 23 percent at risk of malnutrition and 9 percent were malnourished. 3. There is highly significant statistical relationship (p <0.01) between the level of maternal knowledge on diet and nutritional status in preschoolers. | dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio de investigación, de tipo descriptivo correlacional, se realizó en la Institución Educativa “Jardín N° 100” del Distrito de Huamachuco durante el año 2009; con la finalidad de determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento materno sobre alimentación y estado nutricional del preescolar. El universo muestral estuvo conformado por un total de 122 madres y sus respectivos preescolares. Para la recolección de datos se utilizaron dos instrumentos: Encuesta para medir el nivel de conocimiento materno sobre alimentación del preescolar (EMNCMAP); y Tablas de Valoración Nutricional Antropométrica del Niño y Niña menor de cinco años. Los resultados se presentan en tablas de clasificación de simple y doble entrada, el análisis de la relación entre las variables de estudio, se realizó mediante la prueba de independencia de criterios del Ji Cuadrada (x2) y la prueba de correlación de Pearson. Del análisis de los resultados se concluyó: 1. El nivel de conocimiento materno sobre alimentación en preescolares fue de medio a bajo con el 60.7 por ciento y solo el 39.3 por ciento presentó un conocimiento alto. 2. El estado nutricional de preescolares fue normal con el 62.3 por ciento, seguido del 23 por ciento con riesgo a desnutrición y el 9 por ciento estuvo desnutrido. 3. Existe relación estadística altamente significativa (p < 0.01) entre el nivel de conocimiento materno sobre alimentación y estado nutricional en preescolares.
