Abstract
This descriptive correlational research was carried out with the purpose of determining the level of knowledge and attitudes of the students in the face of an earthquake of the IESTP "Daniel Villar" -CARAZ-2020. The sample consisted of 62 students. Two instruments were applied: a questionnaire on the level of knowledge of students before an earthquake and a questionnaire on attitudes before an earthquake. The IBM SPSS Version 26 statistical program was used and they were presented in simple and double entry tables with numerical and percentage frequencies. To determine the relationship between the variables, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient test was used. The results were: Regarding the level of knowledge, it is concluded that 53.2% have a high level, followed by 29% with a medium level and only 17.7% of the students are at a low level of knowledge. Regarding the level of attitude, 62.9% of the total number of students, with an attitude of acceptance, followed by 32.3% with an indifferent attitude and only 4.8% of the students reflect an attitude of rejection. The students who have a low level of knowledge, 63.6% have an indifferent attitude; in the students who have a medium level of knowledge, 38.9% have an indifferent attitude and 50% an attitude of acceptance and in the case of the students with a high level of knowledge, 78.8% have an attitude of acceptance. It is evident that the knowledge and attitude of the students before an earthquake can be seen that there is evidence at a 95% confidence level, that there is a significant relationship (Sig <0.05) between the level of knowledge and the attitude of the students before an earthquake
