Abstract
ABSTRACT In the present investigation the objective was to know the management of the fertilization in Zea mays L. through the data obtained from surveys made to the traditional farmers of the town of Mocan, District of Casa Grande, Province of Ascope, La Libertad Region. For the development of this research work we visited different farms of corn producers associated with the irrigation commission of the Chicama Valley, which serve as intermediaries so that traditional farmers can count on the necessary water reserves and carry out the work of irrigation and management of their crop. The results show that the farmers of the town of Mocan, District of Casa Grande, Province of Ascope, La Libertad Region, perform an excessive dosage of nitrogen, because they do not perform a soil analysis, this being a limiting factor for an adequate dosage of inorganic fertilizers, in addition to showing little knowledge about the importance of sulfur and magnesium in fertilization, this leads to affirm that farmers in the area of Mocan have a poor handling in fertilization.
