Abstract
El presente estudio de investigación de tipo descriptivo exploratorio, con enfoque cualitativo, se realizó en la ciudad de Trujillo y tuvo como objetivos: describir y analizar la percepción del familiar cuidador respecto al cuidado cotidiano de enfermería hacia los familiares de pacientes hospitalizados en las unidades de cuidados intensivos. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron la entrevista semi estructurada y la observación participante, el tamaño de la muestra se determinó mediante el método de saturación o bola de nieve, los escenarios fueron las antesalas a las unidades de cuidados intensivos de los 3 hospitales más antiguos de la ciudad (2 hospitales del Ministerio de Salud y 1 Hospital de Essalud), mediante el análisis de los discursos se obtuvieron 2 categorías dicotómicas, la primera categoría: “La enfermera de Cuidados Intensivos no cuida de los familiares”, descrita a través de las sub categorías: “No cuida de mí, solo cuida del enfermo”, “Evita la comunicación con la familia, y si la hay es fría y cortante”, “Cuando pido información no me la brindan o me envían preguntar al médico”, “Son indiferentes, ignoran a la familia”, “No tienen tiempo para la familia”, “No me preparan para ver a mi paciente”, “Pienso que soy un fastidio” y “Falta trato humanizado” , y la segunda categoría: “La enfermera de Cuidados Intensivos si cuida de los familiares”, descrita a través de las sub categorías: “Cuando me brindan información”, “Cuando me brindan trato humanizado”, “Cuando me muestran empatía”, “Cuando atienden a mi paciente cuidan de mí”, “Cuando me dejan interactuar con mi paciente”, “Cuando me reconoce e identifica” y “Cuando fortalece mi Fé”.

The present exploratory descriptive research study, with a qualitative approach, was carried out in the city of Trujillo and had the following objectives: to describe and analyze the perception of the caregiver relative to the daily care of nursing towards the relatives of patients hospitalized in the units of intensive care The instruments used were the semi structured interview and the participant observation, the size of the sample was determined by the saturation or snowball method, the scenarios were the antechambers to the intensive care units of the 3 oldest hospitals in the city (2 hospitals of the Ministry of Health and 1 Essalud Hospital), through the analysis of the discourses, two dichotomous categories were obtained, the first category: "The Intensive Care Nurse does not take care of the relatives", described through the sub categories : "It does not take care of me, only take care of the sick person", "It avoids the communication with the family, and if there is it is cold and cutting", "When I ask for information they do not give it to me or they send me to ask the doctor", "They are indifferent, ignore the family "," They do not have time for the family "," They do not prepare me to see my patient "," I think I am a nuisance "and" Lack of humanized treatment ", and the second category: "The Intensive Care Nurse takes care of the family members", described through the sub categories: "When they give me information", "when they offer me humanized treatment", "When they show empathy", "When they attend to my patient take care of me "," When they let me interact with my patient "," When I am recognized and identified "and" When I strengthen my faith ".
