dc.description.abstractDeterminar la prevalencia y los factores asociados al SVI en estudiantes de medicina de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo del año 2024. Materiales y métodos: El estudio fue descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal, la población fue 656 estudiantes de medicina en el año lectivo 2024, se hizo un muestreo aleatorio simple donde se obtuvo 188 respuestas de alumnos que llenaron la encuesta. Se realizó la selección de muestra en base a muestreo aleatorio. Resultados: Los resultados se obtuvieron que la prevalencia del síndrome visual informático fue de 79.14 %, además las mujeres tuvieron más SVI (83.1%), los individuos procedentes de zona rural tuvieron más SVI (89.5%); la frecuencia de síntomas y signos del SVI, los síntomas más frecuentes fueron picazón (73.6%), lagrimeo (68.1%), dolor ocular (67.5%) y ardor (65%). Se identificaron como factores asociados al SVI el uso de dispositivos móviles para el estudio (p=0.0495), tomar descanso durante el uso de computador (p=0.042) y la distancia al computador con SVI (p=0.0138). Conclusiones: Se concluye que existe alta prevalencia del SVI en estudiantes de medicina humana, además que el uso de dispositivos móviles para el estudio, tomar descansos durante el uso de computador y la distancia al computador están relacionadas al SVI. dc.description.abstractAbstract To determine the prevalence and factors associated with CVS in medical students at the National University of Trujillo in 2024. Materials and methods: The study was descriptive correlational cross-sectional, the population was 656 medical students in the 2024 academic year, a simple random sampling was made where 188 responses were obtained from students who filled out the survey. The sample selection was carried out based on random sampling. Results: The results obtained were that the prevalence of computer vision syndrome was 79.14%, in addition, women had more CVS (83.1%), individuals from rural areas had more CVS (89.5%); the frequency of symptoms and signs of CVS, the most frequent symptoms were itching (73.6%), tearing (68.1%), eye pain (67.5%) and burning (65%). Factors associated with SVI were identified as the use of mobile devices for studying (p=0.0495), taking breaks while using the computer (p=0.042) and the distance to the computer with SVI (p=0.0138). Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a high prevalence of SVI in human medical students, in addition to the use of mobile devices for studying, taking breaks while using the computer and the distance to the computer are related to SVI.
