| dc.description | Quantitative research, descriptive of correlational cross-sectional design, was carried out during the months May 2019 - April 2020, with the aim of determining the relationship between the level of adaptation of older adults to old age and the degree of social participation of older adults. A universe made up of 80 older adults who meet the criteria for inclusion, who prior to informed consent were given the tools Scale for measuring the coping and adaptation process and the Scale for assessing social participation, both instruments were validated and adapted to the reality, for statistical analysis the statistical program IBM SPSS STATISTICS Version 25 and for to determine the relation between variables was used the Tau C correlational statistical test of Kendall. The results were as follows: 77.5% of older adults have a high level of adaptation and 22.5% have a low level of adaptation to old age, from the group of older adults with a high level of adaptation, 64.5% have a high degree of participation and older adults with a low level of adaptation to old age, 50% have a low degree of participation; that is, there is a significant relationship between the variable level of adaptation to old age and degree of social participation (Tau C of Kendall = 0.206, p-significance=0.041). | es_PE |
| dc.description.abstract | Investigación cuantitativa, descriptiva de diseño transversal correlacional, se realizó durante los meses mayo del 2019 – abril 2020, con el objetivo de determinar la relación entre el nivel de adaptación del adulto mayor a la vejez y el grado de participación social de adultos mayores. Universo constituido por 80 adultos mayores, que cumplen los criterios de inclusión establecidos, quienes previo a un consentimiento informado se les aplicó los instrumentos Escala de medición del proceso de afrontamiento y adaptación y la Escala de valoración de participación social, ambos instrumentos fueron validados y adaptados a la realidad, para el análisis estadístico se utilizó el programa estadístico IBM SPSS STATISTICS Versión 25 y para determinar la relación entre variables se utilizó la prueba estadística correlacional de Tau C de Kendall. Los resultados encontrados fueron los siguientes: el 77.5% de los adultos mayores tiene un nivel de adaptación alta y 22.5% tiene un nivel de adaptación a la vejez baja, del grupo de los adultos mayores cuyo nivel de adaptación es alto, el 64.5% tiene grado de participación alto y los adultos mayores cuyo nivel de adaptación a la vejez es bajo, el 50% tienen un grado de participación bajo; es decir existe una relación significativa entre las variables nivel de adaptación a la vejez y grado de participación social (Tau C de Kendall = 0.206, p-significancia=0.041). | es_PE |
