Abstract
The present cross sectional research work with a quantitative approach and descriptive method was carried out with the purpose of determining the relationship that exists between the knowledge and practice of the nurse in the care of the patient with sedoanalgesia in the Adult Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital Belén de Trujillo, 2024. The study sample consisted of 24 nurses to whom the questionnaire was applied to assess the nurses knowledge in the care of patients with sedoanalgesia and a checklist that evaluated the nurses practice in the care of the patient with sedoanalgesia. SPSS Statistics 23 was used and tabulated in single and double entry tables that included numerical and percentage figures. In order to determine the relationship of the study variables, the Pearson Chi-square correlation statistical test was used. The results were the following: 87.5 percent of nurses present a regular level of knowledge in relation to the care of patients with sedoanalgesia; 12.5 percent have good knowledge and 0.0 percent have poor knowledge; regarding practices, 83.3 percent obtained efficient practices and 16.7 percent obtained deficient practices. In conclusion, there is a highly significant relationship between both variables compared to the care of patients with sedoanalgesia (p=0.001).
