dc.description | To evaluate the hepatoprotective effect of Cucurbita maxima macre pumpkin in Rattus norvegicus treated with Isoniazid. Material and Methods: We worked with 30 rats, divided into 3 groups of 10 specimens each. They were administered for two weeks: Isoniazid 50mg/kg/d intraperitoneal administration to the control group G1, Silymarin 100mg/kg/d orally and Isoniazid 50mg/kg/d intraperitoneal administration to the experimental group G2, C. maximum 800 mg/kg/d orally and Isoniacida 50mg/kg/d intraperitoneal administration to the experimental group G3. A basal and final biochemical sample was determined. The specimens were sacrificed to perform the morphological analysis of the livers. Results: There is a hightly significant reduction of transaminases with the exception of total protein. The decrease is greater in G3 of Aspartate aminotransferase (63.7 ± 13.34 U/L) and Alanine aminotransferase (21.3 ± 2.58 U/L) (p<0.001). There is no significant difference in liver weight (p>0.05). There are very significant differences of the liver index in G1 and G3, being higher in G1 (09.03 ± 0.47%) (p<0.01). Conclusions: The administration of Cucurbita maxima (macre pumpkin) has a significant hepatoprotective effect in Rattus norvegicus treated with Isoniazid | es_PE |
