Sobrecarga y niveles de ansiedad y depresión del cuidador familiar

Abstract
Investigación cuantitativa, descriptivo, correlacional y de corte transversal, tuvo como propósito conocer desde la perspectiva de quienes cuidan, cuál es el nivel de sobrecarga de los cuidadores de PADOMI en el desempeño del rol y su relación con los niveles de ansiedad y depresión para poder establecer estrategias de intervención que permitan prevenir, detectar e intervenir precozmente el nivel de sobrecarga en el cuidador familiar. Se trabajó con 48 cuidadoras (es) familiares intradomiciliario de pacientes con dependencia severa y total. Los datos se obtuvieron a través de instrumentos: Índice de Barthel, para el grado de dependencia, Test de Zarit, para los niveles de sobrecarga y Escala de Goldberg: para los niveles de ansiedad y depresión. Los resultados muestran que el 64,6 por ciento de los cuidadores familiares de pacientes con dependencia severa y total tienen una sobrecarga intensa. El 77,4 por ciento de cuidadores familiares de pacientes con dependencia severa y total que presentan ansiedad tienen sobrecarga intensa, mientras que el 67,7 por ciento de cuidadores con sobrecarga intensa tienen depresión. En conclusión el porcentaje elevado de sobrecarga está afectando los grados de depresión y ansiedad con alta significancia estadística (p = 0.000<0.05).
Description
This descriptive, correlational and tranversal-cut research had as its objective, to know, from the caregivers´ point of views, which is the overwork level of the caregivers of PADOMI about their role performance and its relation to the anxiety and depression levels in order to be able to set intervention strategies for us to prevent, detect, and intervene forwardly the family caregiver´s overwork level. It was considered 48 family, intradomiciliary caregivers of patients with severe and total dependence. The data were obtained through some instruments such as: the Barthel index to get the degree of dependence, the Zarit test to get the overwork levels, and the Goldberg scale to get the anxiety and depression levels. The results show that 64.6 per cent of the family caregivers with severe and total dependence has an intense overwork. 77.4 per cent of family caregivers of patients with severe and total dependence who show anxiety has an intense overwork, whereas 67.7 per cent of caregivers with intense overwork has depression. In conclusion, the high percentage of overwork is affecting the depression and anxiety levels, bringing forth a high statistical significance (p=0.000<0.05).
