dc.descriptionThe research was conducted in Guinea Pig Farm "Don David" SAC; located in the district of Huanchaco, Trujillo Province, Department of La Libertad, in order to determine the effect of Cyperus rotundus "Coquito" like growth promoter. 36 male guinea pigs Peru line, distributed in four treatments, under a completely randomized design was used. The treatments were TO: control antibiotic 0.03%, Tl: with nutsedge 1.25%, T2: with nutsedge 2.50% and T3: 3.75% with nutsedge included in the diet of guinea pigs from weaning until 60 days. The result of compositional analysis for dry matter, protein, fat and ash was 6.47%; 3.10%; 9.36% and 0.93% respectively. The T3 had better final weights; in creases total weights and feed conversion at levels of 908 g; 680.67 g and 7.90 respectively. However statistically significant differences between treatments were not found. Similarly to total food consumption, which ranged from 5.34 and 5.39 kg was statistically similar for all treatments (p> 0.05). Sick or dead animals were not recorded throughout the experiment. Concludes that nutsedge not significantly improved growth performance of guinea pigs compared to furazolidone as growth promoter.es_PE
dc.description.abstractLa investigación se llevó a cabo en la Granja de Cuyes "Don David" S.A. C.; ubicada en el distrito de Huanchaco, provincia de Trujillo, departamento de La Libertad, con el objetivo de determinar el efecto del Cyperus rotundus "coquito" como promotor de crecimiento. Se utilizaron 36 cuyes machos línea Perú, distribuidos en cuatro tratamientos, bajo un diseño completamente al azar. Los tratamientos fueron TO: control con antibiótico al 0,03%, TI: con coquito al1,25%, T2: con coquito al2,50% y T3: con coquito al3,75%incluido en la dieta de los cuyes desde el destete a la saca (60 días). El resultado del análisis bromatológico para Materia seca, Proteína, Grasa y Cenizas fue 6,47%; 3,10%; 9,36% y 0,93% respectivamente. El T3 tuvo mejores pesos finales, incrementos de pesos totales y conversión alimenticia, en niveles de 908 g; 680,67 g y 7,90 respectivamente. Sin embargo no se hallaron diferencias estadísticas significativas entre los tratamientos. Igualmente para el consumo de alimento total, que osciló entre 5,34 y 5,39 kg fue estadísticamente igual para todos los tratamientos (p>0,05). No se registraron animales enfermos ni muertos durante todo el experimento. Se concluye, que el coquito mejora no significativamente los parámetros productivos de los cuyes en comparación a la furazolidona como promotor de crecimiento.es_PE
