dc.descriptionThe objective of this research is to identify the main determinants that significantly affect the financial development of banking in Peru for the period 1980 - 2017. To carry out this work, annual data were used for the following variables: loans granted to the private sector by banks, private fixed gross investment, inflation, bank branches, active interest rate, exchange rate. The statistics were taken from the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) and Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS). This information was initially analyzed descriptively and then processed using the econometric model of ordinary least squares: 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝐶𝑟𝑡 = 𝐵1 − 𝐵2 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝐼𝑛𝑣𝑡 + 𝐵3 𝐼𝑛𝑓𝑡 + 𝐵4 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑂𝐵𝑡 + 𝐵5 𝑟𝑡 + 𝐵6 𝑇𝐶𝑡 + 𝑢𝑡 The descriptive analysis of the variables under study shows an atypical behavior of the credits and other variables studied during the period of hyperinflation; and then move to moderate growth rates during the 90s and sustained growth as of this year, while the results of this model specify that the gross fixed investment, the consumer price index, the number of bank branches, and the type of change are significant variables for the development of the banking system in Peru in the period from 1980 to 2017 as it can explain its changes with a high degree of adjustment.es_PE
dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo identificar los principales factores determinantes que inciden significativamente en el desarrollo financiero bancario en el Perú para el periodo 1980 – 2017. Para la realización de este trabajo se emplearon datos anuales de las siguientes variables: créditos otorgados al sector privado por bancos, inversión Bruta Fija privada, inflación, oficinas bancarias, tasa de interés activa, tipo de cambio. Las estadísticas fueron extraídas del Banco Central de Reserva del Perú (BCRP) y Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS). Dicha información fue en un primer momento analizada descriptivamente y luego procesada empleando el modelo econométrico de mínimos cuadrados ordinarios 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝐶𝑟𝑡 = 𝐵1 − 𝐵2 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝐼𝑛𝑣𝑡 + 𝐵3 𝐼𝑛𝑓𝑡 + 𝐵4 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑂𝐵𝑡 + 𝐵5 𝑟𝑡 + 𝐵6 𝑇𝐶𝑡 + 𝑢𝑡 El análisis descriptivo de las variables en estudio muestra un comportamiento atípico de los créditos y demás variables estudiadas durante la época de hiperinflación; para luego pasar a tasas de crecimiento moderadas durante los años 90s y de crecimiento sostenidos a partir del presente siglio, Mientras que los resultados de dicho modelo precisan que la inversión bruta fija privada, el índice de precios al consumidor, el número de oficinas bancarias, y el tipo de cabio son variables significativas para el desarrollo del sistema bancario en el Perú en el periodo de 1980 a 2017 ya que puede explicar sus cambios con un alto grado de ajuste.es_PE
