Abstract
In the present investigation, the hemoglobin and hematocrit levels were determined in relation to the body mass index (BMI), age and sex in adult of Vista Alegre, Víctor Larco-Trujillo 2020. They were used 55 blood samples from people over 18 years of age. Anthropometric measurements were made using the variables: height (cm) and weight (kg), hemoglobin (cyanomethaemoglobin method), hematocrit (microhematocrit); thus, informed consent was also implemented. The average values were hemoglobin 13.80 g / dl; hematocrit 41.00%; BMI 26.74 and age 47.00 years. It was found that 81.80% of the residents older than 18 years of age have normal hemoglobin; and, 18.16% have low hemoglobin. It was also found that 76.35% of users over 18 years of age have a normal hematocrit; 16.35% have a low hematocrit; and 7.27% have an increased hematocrit. It concludes; that, statistically, if there is a correlation between the values of hemoglobin and BMI, age, sex. Similarly, if there is a correlation between hematocrit and BMI, age; there is no correlation between hematocrit and sex values. Also, there is no correlation between hemoglobin and hematocrit.
