Abstract
The present descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional research was carried out at the Hospital II ESSALUD of Cajamarca, 2022, with the purpose of determining the relationship between knowledge about the safe surgery checklist (LVCS) and its application by the nurse at the Surgical Center. The sample universe was 45 nurses; For data collection, the instruments were applied: LVCS knowledge questionnaire and LVCS application evaluation checklist. Simple, multi-entry statistical tables were used to interpret and display the information collected. Chi-square analysis was used to see how the study variables were related to each other. The data were processed and analyzed using IBM SPSS STATISTICS Version 25. It was concluded that 57.8% of the surgical center nurses have a high level of knowledge about the LVCS and 64.4% of them do apply the LVCS. Of the nurses who have a high level of knowledge, 40% apply the LVCS in the entry phase, also 40% apply it in the surgical pause phase, 51.1% apply it in the exit phase, and 40% apply it in the exit phase. 40% of them do apply it in the three phases (p = 0.037 < 0.05), which confirms that there is a relationship between knowledge and application of the LVCS
