Abstract
La presente investigación se desarrolló en la comunidad de Pichunchuco, distrito y provincia de Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad; a una altitud de 3570 msnm, con el objetivo de determinar el efecto del Guano de las Islas en el rendimiento de Daucus carota L. var. Royal Chantenay. Se estudiaron cuatro tratamientos, T0, T1, T2 y T3, conformados por 0, 2, 4 y 6 t.ha-1 de guano de las islas. El experimento fue conducido bajo condiciones de campo abierto en un diseño de bloques completos al azar. Las características evaluadas fueron altura de planta, peso fresco, longitud y diámetro de la raíz y, rendimiento por hectárea; obteniéndose efectos positivos en los tratamientos abonados con guano de las islas en el cultivo de la zanahoria, presentando diferencias significativas en las variables indicadas, en relación al tratamiento testigo. Los datos de la investigación se analizaron con una confiabilidad de 95%, mediante análisis de varianza y el test de Tuckey. Se concluye que, la aplicación de guano de las islas en nivel de 4 t.ha-1 (T2) presenta el mejor efecto sobre el rendimiento de zanahoria var. Royal Chantenay en Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad.

The present investigation was developed in the community of Pichunchuco, district and province of Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad; at an altitude of 3570 masl, with the objective of determining the effect of Guano from the Islands on the yield of Daucus carota L. var. Royal Chantenay. Four treatments, T0, T1, T2 and T3, made up of 0, 2, 4 and 6 t.ha-1 of guano from the islands, were studied. The experiment was conducted under open field conditions in a randomized complete block design. The characteristics evaluated were plant height, fresh weight, root length and diameter, and yield per hectare; obtaining positive effects in the treatments fertilized with guano from the islands in the carrot crop, presenting significant differences in the indicated variables, in relation to the control treatment. The research data was analyzed with a reliability of 95%, through analysis of variance and Tuckey's test. It is concluded that the application of guano from the islands at a level of 4 t.ha-1 (T2) has the best effect on the yield of carrot var. Royal Chantenay in Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad.
