dc.descriptionThe research objective was to determine the effect of three periods of fasting and transport on three weight loss on broilers Cobb 500 line before slaughtering. 873 male chickens of 2.1 kg live weight were selected. Those who were weighed prior to shipment and obtain the initial weight transport, pigeonholing of 8 chickens per crate to reach the final destination, which measured the landing weight for the final weight. Data were collected under fasting time: O, 4 and 6 hours prior to shipment with different transport times 4, 8 and 12 hours. The experiment was conducted under a Completely Randomized Design with 3x3 factorial arrangements to determine differences between time of fasting and transportation, with nine treatments. The mortality rate and disposal were evaluated with chi-square test. We determined a highly significant effect oftime of fasting, transport and their interaction (p <0.05) on weight loss ofthe chickens. A longer period of fasting (6 h) and shorter transport (4 h) less weight loss. No significant differences were found between treatments for percentage ofmortality, orto discard (p>0.05).es_PE
dc.description.abstractEl objetivo de la investigación fue determinar el efecto de tres tiempos de ayuno y tres de transporte sobre la pérdida de peso de pollos de carne línea Cobb 500 antes del beneficio. Se seleccionaron 873 pollos machos de 2.1 kg peso vivo promedio, los que fueron pesados antes del embarque y transporte obteniendo el peso inicial, encastándolos de ~8 pollos por .i.aba, hasta llegar al destino final, donde fueron pesados al desembarque para obtener el peso final. Se tomaron datos según el tiempo de ayuno: O, 4 y 6 horas antes del embarque con diferentes tiempos de transporte 4, 8 y 12 horas. El experimento fue conducido bajo un Diseño Completamente al Azar con Arreglo Factorial 3x3 para determinar las diferencias entre tiempo de ayuno y de transporte, con nueve tratamientos. El porcentaje de mortalidad, y descarte fueron evaluados con la prueba de Chi Cuadrado. Se determinó un efecto altamente significativo del tiempo de ayuno, de transporte y de su interacción {p<0.05) sobre la pérdida de peso de los pollos. A mayor tiempo de ayuno (6 h) y a menor tiempo de transporte (4 h) menor pérdida de peso. No se determinaron diferencias significativas entre los tratamientos para el porcentaje de mortalidad, ni para descarte (p>0,05).es_PE
