Valoración diagnóstica de un método fotográfico para la identificación del biotipo facial en pacientes atendidos en el servicio de ortodoncia de la USEE - UNT del 2009 - 2016

dc.description.abstractObjetivo: Determinar el valor diagnóstico de un método fotográfico en la identificación del biotipo facial. Material y método: Estudio retrospectivo, transversal y observacional; evaluó una muestra de 51 fotografías frontales y telerrradiografías laterales obtenidas de las historias clínicas de pacientes del servicio de ortodoncia de la USEE-UNT. Para la identificación del biotipo facial se utilizó el método radiográfico mediante el coeficiente Vert de Ricketts, y para el método fotográfico la medida del Ángulo de apertura facial. Para el procesamiento de los datos se usó el soporte estadístico SPSS-23. Resultados: Para el biotipo dolicofacial de obtuvo sensibilidad de 92.9%, especificidad de 45.9%, valor predictivo positivo 39.4% y valor predictivo negativo 94.4% para mesofacial: S = 31.6% y E = 62.5%, VPP = 33.3%, 60.6% y para braquifacial: S = 0% y E = 100%, VPP = no determinado, VPN= 64.7% Conclusiones: No se presentaron Valores predictivos positivos significativos para ninguno de los biotipos faciales, lo cual se traduce en una baja posibilidad de certeza en el diagnósticoes_PE
dc.description.abstractObjective: To determine the diagnostic value of a photographic method in the identification of the facial biotype. Material and method: Retrospective, cross-sectional and observational study; evaluated a sample of 51 frontal photographs and lateral radiographs obtained from the clinical records of patients in the orthodontic service of the USEE-UNT. For the identification of the facial biotype, the radiographic method was used by the Ricketts Vert coefficient, and for the photographic method the measure of the facial aperture angle. SPSS-23 statistical support was used to process the data. Results: For the dolichofacial biotype, it obtained sensitivity of 92.9%, specificity of 45.9%, positive predictive value 39.4% and negative predictive value 94.4% for mesofacial: S = 31.6% and E = 62.5%, PPV = 33.3%, 60.6% and for brachifacial: S = 0% and E = 100%, PPV = not determined, NPV = 64.7% Conclusions: There are no significant positive predictive values presented for any of the facial biotypes, which translates into a low possibility of certainty in the diagnosises_PE
