Abstract Comparison of Cognitive and Emotional Alterations between Healthcare Personnel in COVID and Non-COVID Areas at the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo from April 2022 to September 2022 Author: César Augusto Pérez Colmenares, Psychiatry Resident, National University of Trujillo Advisors: Dr. Karla Portilla Velarde and Dr. Conchita Asenjo Pérez Research Type: Analytical observational comparative correlational cross-sectional study Abstract: The study aims to investigate the differential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the cognitive and emotional alterations of healthcare personnel working in COVID and non-COVID areas. This research seeks to fill a gap in the scientific literature by providing empirical data on the repercussions on mental and cognitive health of healthcare professionals. The findings could have significant implications for the development of intervention protocols and emotional support policies in hospital settings. The study compares the frequency of cognitive impairments and emotional disturbances, such as depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders, between the two groups, aiming to identify correlations between working in COVID areas and the presence of these changes. The ultimate goal is to improve workplace conditions and promote the overall well-being of healthcare workers through evidence-based recommendations.
