dc.descriptionTo determine the level of knowledge about their disease in patients with high blood pressure (HBP) in the Regional Hospital of Trujillo. Material and Methods: Descriptive transverse study was included 62 patients with a diagnosis of HBP who attended the outpatient service of the Regional Hospital of Trujillo with established criteria. A validated questionnaire was applied to determine the level of knowledge about HBP. The Stanon Scale and the Gaussian curve were used to categorize them into three groups, according to the score obtained considering as good knowledge level of 19-21 points, regular of 15-18 and bad of 8-14 points. Results: 69% are female. The average age is 69 years. The average sick time is 7.8 years. The most frequent level of instruction is secondary complete with 29%. The level of knowledge about his disease in patients with HBP is good at 37.1%, regular at 40.32% and bad at 22.58%. Conclusions: The level of knowledge about their disease in patients with HBP is good in 37.1%, regular in 40.3% and bad in 22.6%es_PE
dc.description.abstractDeterminar el nivel de conocimiento acerca de su enfermedad en pacientes con hipertensión arterial (HTA) en el Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo. Material y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal que incluyó 62 pacientes con diagnóstico de HTA que acudieron al servicio de consulta externa del Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo con criterios establecidos. Se aplicó un cuestionario validado para determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre HTA. Se empleó la Escala de Stanones y la curva de Gauss para categorizarlos en tres grupos, según el puntaje obtenido considerándose como nivel de conocimiento bueno de 19-21 puntos, regular de 15-18 y malo de 8-14 puntos. Resultados: El 69 % son de sexo femenino. El promedio de edad es 69 años. El tiempo de enfermedad promedio es de 7.8 años. El nivel de instrucción más frecuente es secundaria completa con 29 %. El nivel de conocimientos sobre su enfermedad en pacientes con HTA es bueno en 37.1 %, regular en 40.3% y malo en 22.6%.
