Abstract
El objetivo del trabajo, fue determinar la caracterización zootécnica y genética de la población ovina, en una muestra de 110 ovinos, en dos grupos, 61 y 49 ovinos de los sectores de Chuquizongo y San Carlos, distrito de Usquil, provincia Otuzco, departamento La libertad; se obtuvieron 11 medidas zoometricas (variables) y se confeccionaron 11 índices zoometricas No existió diferencia significativa entre los Chuquizongo y San Carlos variables: longitud corporal (57,64; 79,74 cm), ancho de grupa (25,52; 24,56 cm) y largo de grupa (29,21; 28,80 cm), largo de cabeza (34,24; 34,50 cm) y anchura de cabeza (24,12; 23,05 cm), perímetro torácico (89,60; 86,07 cm) y perímetro de caña (9,96; 9,68 cm), alzada a la cruz (63,91; 64,02 cm) y a la grupa (65,13; 64,89 cm), diámetro bicostal (32,02; 33,02 cm) y dorso esternal (38,64; 38,3 cm) pero sí, indicaron una grado medio de uniformidad para cada variable; de la parte dorsal del ovino se tomaron las mechas de lana, que fueron identificadas y enviadas al laboratorio. Aleatoriamente se seleccionaron 25 ovinos para el análisis genético, utilizando tubos vancuntainer se extrajo sangre, el ADN se obtuvo con el Kit de Roche High Pure PCR ProductPurificationKit. Esto determinó que el 4% de los ovinos pertenecen al haplotipo A, mientras que el 96 % de la población de ovinos pertenecen al haplotipo B. Estos ovinos tienen la forma dolicocefalia, con proporciones longilíneas, ligera tendencia a la meso linealidad-en el caso de San Carlos-, hipermétrico, una sección del tórax más circular; presentaron grupa convexilínea, con orientación de doble propósito (carne y leche).
