dc.descriptionOBJECTIVES: The objectives were to determine the degree of therapeutic adherence of hypertensive patients and its determinants. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Under a pharmacotherapy follow up model, 204 patients attended in public facilities from Trujillo and Santa were interviewed between November 2010 and January 2011. Adherence degree was diagnosed by three normalized test: Haynes - Sackett, Morisky - Green - Lavine and Counting tablets test. The negative determinants of no adherence were identified by a 20 questions test based on those factors proposed by the World Health Organization as mayor components of unaccomplished. RESULTS: High level of coincidence among three tests used to measure non adherence was detected in Trujillo and Santa (60.83 y 79.76% respectively). Social environment (27.47% y 22.72%) and health personnel performance (20.7% y 20.53%) were the most negative dimensions. Individually most negative factors were self-medication (13.53% y 8.61%) and non-compliance of appointments (12.88 y 7.59%). CONCLUSIONS: Hypertensive patients of Trujillo and Santa provinces are non-adherents to medical treatment and most negative contributors are patient social environment and the patient perception of health workers performance.es_ES
dc.description.abstractOBJETIVOS: La investigación tuvo como objetivos determinar el grado de adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico de pacientes hipertensos y los factores influyentes para la no adherencia. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Bajo un modelo de seguimiento Farmacoterapéutico domiciliario se abordaron 204 pacientes de las provincias de Trujillo y Santa (84 y 120 respectivamente) entre noviembre de 2010 y enero de 2011. Para determinar el grado de cumplimiento se utilizaron tres test normalizados: test de Haynes - Sackett, test de Morisky - Green - Lavine y el test de Recuento de Tabletas. Para determinar los factores que influyen sobre la no adherencia se utilizó un test de 20 preguntas agrupadas en 5 dimensiones reportados como los más influyentes. RESULTADOS: Los resultados muestran un alto nivel de coincidencia de pacientes no adherentes en los tres instrumentos tanto en Trujillo como Santa (60.83 y 79.76% respectivamente). El entorno social (27.47% y 22.72%) y la percepción del trato del personal de salud (20.7% y 20.53%) fueron las dimensiones que influenciaron más negativamente. Individualmente los factores más resaltantes fueron la automedicación (13.53% y 8.61%) y la inasistencia a citas programadas (12.88 y 7.59%). CONCLUSIONES: Los pacientes hipertensos de Trujillo y Santa son incumplidores al tratamiento médico y los factores negativos más influyentes son la influencia del entorno social y la percepción del trato del personal de salud.es_ES
