Estado nutricional y rendimiento académico en adolescentes de una Institución Educativa – Huamachuco

Abstract
La presente investigación, descriptiva, correlacional y de corte transversal, se realizó
en el distrito de Huamachuco con el objetivo de determinar la relación entre el estado
nutricional y el rendimiento académico de estudiantes de la institución educativa
Florencia de Mora de Sandoval, Huamachuco. La muestra estuvo constituida por 159
estudiantes del 5to grado de secundaria que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión.
Para la recolección de datos se utilizó los indicadores de peso y talla con las gráficas
preestablecidas y para medir el rendimiento académico se clasificó según los
parámetros establecidos por el MINEDU. Los resultados fueron: El 75.5% de
adolescentes presentaron estado normal, el 22.6% con sobrepeso, el 1.3% con
delgadez, el 0.6% con obesidad y ningún adolescente presentó delgadez severa. Con
respecto al rendimiento académico: El 76.1% fue bueno, el 15.1% regular, el 8.8%
excelente, ningún adolescente presentó rendimiento académico bajo. En el 56.6% de
adolescentes su estado nutricional fue normal y su rendimiento académico bueno, el
18.2% tuvo sobrepeso y nivel de rendimiento académico bueno, el 0.6% con
delgadez y nivel de rendimiento académico excelente, y el 0.6% tuvo obesidad y
nivel de rendimiento académico bueno; además se observa un valor tau c de Kendall
de 0.009 con probabilidad 0.834 siendo no significativo. En conclusión, no existe
relación entre el estado nutricional y el nivel de rendimiento académico, siendo el
rendimiento académico bueno cuando el estudiante es de estado nutricional normal
