dc.descriptionThis research work was carried out with the objective of determining the effect of Ginger (Zingiber officinale) as a growth promoter in guinea pig feed during the growth - fattening stage; in the district of La Esperanza, province of Trujillo, department of La Libertad, for which 40 male Peru guinea pigs distributed in a completely randomized design were used in four treatments and evaluated for a period of 60 days. The treatments were T0 (control diet), T1 (T0 + 0.07% ginger), T2 (T0 + 0.08% ginger) and T3 (T0 + 0.09% ginger). The data were evaluated with ANOVA a factor and the Tukey discriminatory test. The initial and final average body weight was 310.65 g. and 975.08 g. respectively, finding significant statistical differences between treatments (p <0.05); the treatment that obtained the best nutritional conversion was T3 with 3.02; there was no mortality or morbidity in the different treatments. Regarding the cost benefit, the most efficient was T2 with 2.21. It is concluded that the use of ginger (Zingiber officinale) as a growth promoter in doses of 0.09% of ginger in the food, in the growth stage - fattening improved the productive variables in both stages.es_PE
dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo de investigación se llevó a cabo con el objetivo determinar el efecto del Jengibre (Zingiber officinale) como promotor de crecimiento en la alimentación de cuyes durante la etapa de crecimiento – engorde; en el distrito de La Esperanza, provincia de Trujillo, departamento de La Libertad, para lo cual se utilizaron 40 cuyes machos raza Perú distribuidos en un diseño completamente al azar en cuatro tratamientos y evaluados por un periodo de 60 días. Los tratamientos fueron T0 (dieta control), T1 (T0 + 0.07 % de jengibre), T2 (T0 + 0.08% de jengibre) y T3 (T0 + 0.09% de jengibre). Los datos fueron evaluados con ANOVA un factor y la prueba discriminatoria de Tukey. El peso corporal promedio inicial y final fue de 310.65 g. y 975.08 g. respectivamente, encontrándose diferencias estadísticas significativas entre tratamientos (p < 0.05); el tratamiento que obtuvo mejor conversión alimenticia fue el T3 con 3.02; no se presentó mortalidad ni morbilidad en los diferentes tratamientos. Respecto al beneficio costo, el más eficiente fue el T2 con 2.21. Se concluye que el uso del Jengibre (Zingiber officinale) como promotor de crecimiento en dosis de 0.09% de jengibre en el alimento, en la etapa de crecimiento – engorde mejoró las variables productivas en ambas etapas.es_PE
