Abstract
Efectuar un trabajo de Seguridad e Higiene Industrial exige de quien lo realiza, conocimiento y destreza, conocimientos de las leyes, normas y reglamentos que rigen la seguridad e higiene industrial; destreza para demostrar y convencer a la Alta Dirección de que es necesaria la aplicación de un Programa de Seguridad e Higiene, el mismo que no significará inversión innecesaria, sino, que se constituirá como una inversión rentable, porque cualquier tipo de accidente acarreará pérdidas, los mismos que se verán reflejados en los costos finales del producto terminado. La destreza de convencimiento debe ser aplicada a los trabajadores hacia a quienes está dirigido el programa de seguridad; el trabajador debe aceptar y comprender que el programa de seguridad ha sido hecho para su beneficio.
En la empresa textil LA UNIÓN, se tiene en cuenta las prescripciones generales establecidas en la legislación sobre prevención de accidentes y enfermedades, así como la protección de las trasmisiones y máquinas. Se han realizado además, las recomendaciones y dispositivos de seguridad necesarias, sin embargo debe indicarse que existiendo muchas máquinas que se mueven a grandes velocidades y a los cuales resultan difíciles de aplicar resguardos que no obstruyan la visibilidad de los mismos. Esto implica que los operarios deben tener especial cuidado de que sus manos no sean alcanzadas o entren en contacto directo y peligroso con dichas máquinas. De la misma manera, a fin de evitar cualquier eventualidad, se debe tener especial cuidado con la vestimenta, que debe ser corta y semi ceñida al cuerpo; y el cabello, el cual debe ser recogido y protegido a fin de evitar que sea enredado con alguna máquina.
Las caídas son especialmente peligrosas cerca de las máquinas que se emplean en esta industria. No se debe permitir que la limpieza se lleve a cabo a menos que las máquinas se encuentren completamente paradas.
En este trabajo se encontrarán recomendaciones que deben tenerse en cuenta para evitar accidentes en las diferentes áreas de la fábrica textil LA UNION. Se menciona asimismo, los problemas de contaminación y se hace referencia a la protección personal y contra incendios. Debe tenerse siempre presente que: “La inversión de seguridad lejos de ser un gasto más que incide sobre el costo de producción, es por el contrario un elemento de disminución del mismo”.
Debemos tener en cuenta que en toda evaluación, no sólo es necesaria la determinación de los riesgos como prácticas y condiciones que pueden causar enfermedades y accidentes de trabajo, sino que debemos plantear y ejecutar las acciones correctivas inmediatas y la verificación del cumplimiento de las normatividad y las leyes que rigen dicho tema

Carrying out a Safety and Industrial Hygiene job requires from the person who carries it out, knowledge and dexterity, knowledge of the laws, norms and regulations that govern industrial safety and hygiene; ability to demonstrate and convince senior management that the application of a Safety and Hygiene Program is necessary, which will not mean unnecessary investment, but will be a profitable investment, because any type of accident will result in losses, which will be reflected in the final costs of the finished product. The skill of convincing must be applied to the workers towards whom the security program is directed; The worker must accept and understand that the safety program has been made for his benefit.
In the textile company LA UNIÓN, the general prescriptions established in the legislation on the prevention of accidents and illnesses are taken into account, as well as the protection of the transmissions and machines. The necessary recommendations and safety devices have also been made, however it should be noted that there are many machines that move at high speeds and which are difficult to apply resguardos that do not obstruct the visibility of them. This implies that operators must take special care that their hands are not reached or come into direct and dangerous contact with said machines. In the same way, in order to avoid any eventuality, special care must be taken with the clothing, which must be short and semi-tight to the body; and the hair, which must be collected and protected in order to avoid being entangled with a machine.
Falls are especially dangerous near the machines used in this industry. Cleaning should not be allowed to take place unless the machines are completely stopped.
In this work you will find recommendations that must be taken into account to avoid accidents in the different areas of the LA UNION textile factory. Mention is also made of pollution problems and reference is made to personal and fire protection. It must always be kept in mind that: "The investment of security, far from being an expense that affects the cost of production, is on the contrary an element of diminishing it".
We must bear in mind that in any evaluation, not only the determination of risks as practices and conditions that can cause illnesses and accidents at work is necessary, but we must also propose and execute the immediate corrective actions and the verification of compliance with the regulations and the laws that govern that subject
