Abstract
The objective of this research, quantitative, descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional, was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude of health personnel in biosafety measures in the surgical center at the Simón Bolívar Cajamarca -2023 hospital. The sample consisted of 59 participants, including 13 gynecologists, 8 surgeons, 5 anesthesiologists, 9 pediatricians (admitted for cesarean section), 14 nurses, 3 ophthalmologists, 7 nursing technicians. To collect the data, the questionnaire instrument on the level of knowledge about biosafety and the observation guide on the attitude of health personnel was used, which were subjected to reliability, yielding a KR20 of 0.81 and for the observation guide it reached a reliability of 0.95, both instruments with high reliability. The data were presented in simple and cross tables with absolute and percentage frequencies. The results indicate that the level of knowledge in biosafety measures of the surgical center health personnel was 39.0% high, 61.0% medium and no low levels were recorded. Regarding the attitudes of health personnel regarding biosafety measures in the surgical center, they were 44.1% favorable and 55.9% unfavorable. The statistical analysis showed the value of p = 0.365, therefore, there is no statistically significant relationship with the level of knowledge and attitude of health personnel in biosafety measures in the surgical center at the Simón Bolívar Cajamarca -2023 hospital, which is corroborated by the Chisquare test (X²): 0.819.
