dc.description.abstractThis research report is quantitative - descriptive, transversal, whose main objective is to determine the relationship that exists between sociocultural factors: level of education, customs and beliefs with the choice of the place of delivery care in pregnant women treated in the hospital. Leoncio Prado from Huamachuco, the sample was made up of 93 pregnant women who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results obtained were: The educational level of the study group is 40.9% at the secondary level; 26.9% primary; 19.3% without studies and 12.9% with higher education. About customs; the highest percentage (67.7%) are adequate and 32.3% are not adequate. The beliefs; The highest percentage (87.1%) reports being good and 12.9% reporting being bad. When choosing the place of delivery care, the highest percentage (80.6%) chose Institutional delivery (Leoncio Prado Hospital) and 19.4% chose home delivery. The relationship that exists between sociocultural factors with the choice of birth care location is highly significant, evidenced by applying the Chi square test with a value of x2=24.933; p<.001, with customs x2=39.499; p<.001 and beliefs x2=57.407; p<.001
