Abstract
Lo estudios osteológicos permiten tener una buena relación entre las especies actuales y sus ancestros pudiendo determinarse asi su respectiva evolución a través del tiempo. El sistema esquelético de los peces ha evolucionado desde formas muy complejas hacia formas más simples, gracias a la especialización del esqueleto axial. Oncorhynchus mikiss “trucha arco iris” es un representante de la familia Salmonidae, perteneciendo al género de Oncorhynchus. Por ello los objetivos de este trabajo estuvieron orientado a la identificación y descripción de cada una de las estructura óseas que conforman el esqueleto de O. mykiss (Walbaum, 1792) “Trucha Arco íris” provenientes Centro Piscícola de Motil. Se obtuvieron 16 ejemplares de O. mykiss “Trucha Arco iris”, con una longitud entre 30 – 45 cm y vertiéndose sobre ellos agua caliente para ablandar los ligamentos y realizar la eliminación del tejido muscular, con la ayuda de pinzas y bisturí, posteriormente con la finalidad de blanquear se colocaron en agua oxigenada. O. mykiss presenta caracteres esqueléticos muy particulares como la presencia de cuatro pares de circumorbitales (supraorbital, preorbitales, suborbitales, postorbitales) y también presenta dientes palatinos y vomerianos.

Steological studies allow to have a good relationship between the current species and their ancestors, thus being able to determine their respective evolution over time. The skeletal system of fish has evolved from very complex forms to simpler forms, thanks to the specialization of the axial skeleton. Oncorhynchus mikiss "rainbow trout" is a representative of the Salmonidae family, belonging to the Oncorhynchus genus. Therefore the objectives of this work were aimed to the identification and description of each one of the skeletal structures that make up the skeleton of O. mykiss (Walbaum, 1792) "Trucha Arco íris" from Motil Piscícola Center. 16 specimens of O. mykiss "Rainbow Trout" were obtained, with a length between 30 - 45 cm and hot water was poured on them to soften the ligaments and perform the elimination of the muscular tissue, with the help of forceps and scalpel, afterwards with the purpose of bleaching, they were placed in oxygenated water. O. mykiss presents very particular skeletal characters such as the presence of four pairs of circumorbitals (supraorbital, preorbital, suborbital, postorbital) and also presents palatal and vomerian teeth.
