dc.descriptionThis qualitative study had as objectives to describe and analyze the styles of care / caring performed by nurses on the adult patient with mechanical ventilation. Maturana, Figueiredo and Boff were the authors who gave support to the theoretical and philosophical study. A total of ten nurses at the intensive care unit of Dr. Augustine O’Horán General Hospital in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, participated in the study. Data were obtained through profound interviews and participant observation. The main subject category of the study was: Cybernetic coupling nurse-patient-machine with the subcategories, patient-machine coupling, patient-nurse coupling and family-hospital coupling. It highlights how the nursing caring is essential for this coupling to take place. The obtained results contribute to the construction of a specific body of scientific knowledge on nursing care/caring for patients with mechanical ventilation based on the practice and explain the basic care nurses do every day in intensive care units to achieve the cybernetic coupling of living machines -mechanical machines.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio cualitativo tuvo como objetivos describir y analizar los estilos de cuidar/cuidado que realizan las enfermeras para el paciente adulto con ventilación mecánica asistida. Maturana, Figueiredo y Boff fueron los autores que dieron soporte teórico-filosófico al estudio. Participaron diez enfermeras (os) asistenciales de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital General Dr. Agustín O’Horán de Mérida Yucatán, México. Los datos obtenidos fueron obtenidos a través de la entrevista a profundidad y observación participante. La categoría temática principal del estudio fue: Acoplamiento cibernético paciente-enfermera-máquina, con las subcategorías, acoplamiento paciente-máquina, acoplamiento paciente-enfermera(o) y acoplamiento familia-hospital. Se destaca cómo el cuidar-cuidado de enfermería se hace imprescindible para que dicho acoplamiento se pueda llevar a cabo. Los resultados obtenidos permiten contribuir en la construcción de un cuerpo de conocimientos científicos específicos sobre el cuidar/cuidado de enfermería para pacientes con ventilación mecánica asistida a partir de la práctica y explicitar los cuidados fundamentales que hacen cotidianamente las enfermeras en las unidades de cuidados intensivos para lograr el acoplamiento cibernético de máquinas vivientes-máquinas mecánicas.es_ES
