Abstract
Objetivo: Identificar una correlación entre el peso al nacer y el grado de concavidad de la superficie plantar del pie obtenido mediante evaluación de la huella plantar de recién nacidos a término. Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional descriptivo correlacional. Se usaron las historias clínicas con dato de peso al nacer y las huellas plantares de 47 recién nacidos en las cuales se calculó “Arch-Index de Cavanagh y Rodgers” usando los programas: ImageJ y Autocad 2017. Resultados: El valor de “Arch-Index” promedio fue 33.0 ± 2.1 (huella izquierda) y 32.9 ± 2.2 (huella derecha), correspondiendo un 97.8% a un arco bajo (pie plano fisiológico), a su vez el peso promedio fue de 3234.9 ± 509.9, el coeficiente Rho de Spearman fue mayor de 0.80. Conclusiones: Existe una correlación significativa y directamente proporcional entre el peso al nacer y “Arch Index”.
