dc.descriptionA non-experimental cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out to determine the body mass index and the serum concentrations of glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides in 200 patients between 18 and 65 years of age; attended in the Laboratory of the Puente Chao Health Center during the months of January to July of the year 2021; The objective is to relate the effect of glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides on the body mass index, with the following variables: age, sex. 28.5% are obese and 51% are overweight. Furthermore, 14.5% had hyperglycemia, 22% had hypercholesterolemia, and only 1% had hypertriglyceridemia. By relating the body mass index (BMI) with glucose levels, it was found that 4% have obesity and diabetes, by relating the BMI with cholesterol levels it was found that 6% have obesity and hypercholesterolemia, it was also found that when relate BMI with triglycerides, 0.5% have hypertriglyceridemia and obesity, with a significance level of 0.05. The female sex presents the highest levels of glucose (10.5%), cholesterol (16.5%), triglycerides (1%), obesity (24%). The age group of 41-50 years was the group with the highest prevalence of hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia and elevated BMI.es_PE
dc.description.abstractSe realizo un estudio descriptivo transversal no experimental para determinar el índice de masa corporal y las concentraciones séricas de glucosa, colesterol y triglicéridos en 200 pacientes de 18 y 65 años; atendidos en el Laboratorio del Centro de Salud Puente Chao durante los meses de enero a Julio del año 2021; el objetivo es relacionar el efecto de glucosa, colesterol y triglicéridos en el índice de masa corporal, con las siguientes variables edad, sexo. El 28.5 % presenta obesidad y el 51% tiene sobrepeso. Además, el 14.5% tenía hiperglucemia, el 22% tenía hipercolesterolemia y solamente el 1% tenía hipertrigliceridemia. Al relacionar el índice de masa corporal (IMC) con los niveles de glucosa, se encontró que 4% presenta obesidad y diabetes, al relacionar el IMC con los niveles de colesterol se encontró que 6% presenta obesidad e hipercolesterolemia, también se encontró que al relacionar el IMC con los triglicéridos el 0.5% tiene hipertrigliceridemia y obesidad, con un nivel de significancia de 0.05. El sexo femenino presenta los mayores índices de glucosa (10.5%), colesterol (16.5%), triglicéridos (1%), obesidad (24%). El grupo etario de 41-50 años fue el grupo con mayor prevalencia de hipercolesterolemia, hipertrigliceridemia e IMC elevado.es_PE
