dc.descriptionThe serum levels of iron in humans obtained after the administration of fried liver of Gallus gallus with Prunus persica facing those ones obtained from generic ferrous sulphate tablets were compared. The study was carried out in 16 apparently healthy volunteers, which in the first period ingested 200g of fried liver of Gallus gallus administered with Prunus persica and in the second period a 300 mg of ferrous sulphate tablet with 250 ml of water were administered. Using the method of Iron – Ferrozine of BioSystems the serum levels of iron were determined at 0,5 hours, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours and 8 hours for both treatments. The average concentrations of obtained iron after the administration of fried liver of Gallus gallus along with Prunus persica were: 0,5 hours (547,88 ug/dl), 1 hour (753,19 ug/dl), 2 hours (845,16 ug/dl), 4 hours (451,91 ug/dl), 6 hours (201,31 ug/dl) and 8 hours (76,02 ug/dl); whereas for the generic ferrous sulphate tablets, they were: 0,5 hours (27,75 ug/dl), 1 hour (83,22 ug/dl), 2 hours (128,65 ug/dl), 4 hours (301,12 ug/dl), 6 hours (438,23 ug/dl) and 8 hours (266,59 ug/dl). It is concluded that administration of fried liver of Gallus gallus along with Prunus persica provides a greater serum concentration of iron, compared with the generic ferrous sulphate tabletses_ES
dc.description.abstractSe compararon los niveles séricos de hierro en humanos obtenidos después de la administración de hígado frito de Gallus gallus junto con Prunus persica frente a los obtenidos de tabletas genéricas de sulfato ferroso. El estudio se realizó en 16 voluntarios aparentemente sanos, los cuales en el primer periodo ingirieron 200g de hígado frito de Gallus gallus administrado con Prunus persica y en el segundo periodo se administró una tableta de sulfato ferroso 300 mg con 250 ml de agua. Utilizando el método de Iron – Ferrozine de BioSystems se determinaron los niveles séricos de hierro a las 0,5 horas, 1 hora, 2 horas, 4 horas, 6 horas y 8 horas para ambos tratamientos. Las concentraciones promedio de hierro obtenido después de la administración de hígado frito de Gallus gallus junto con Prunus persica fueron: 0,5 horas (547,88 ug/dl), 1 hora (753,19 ug/dl), 2 horas (845,16 ug/dl), 4 horas (451,91 ug/dl), 6 horas (201,31 ug/dl) y 8 horas (76,02 ug/dl); mientras que para las tabletas genéricas de sulfato ferroso fueron: 0,5 horas (27,75 ug/dl), 1 hora (83,22 ug/dl), 2 horas (128,65 ug/dl), 4 horas (301,12 ug/dl), 6 horas (438,23 ug/dl) y 8 horas (266,59 ug/dl). Se concluye que la administración de hígado frito de Gallus gallus junto con Prunus persica proporciona una mayor concentración sérica de hierro, en comparación con las tabletas genéricas de sulfato ferrosoes_ES
