dc.descriptionThe aim of this study was to conduct a situational analysis of goat breeding in the district and province of Virú, La Libertad region. lt was identified, described and analyzed the goats breeding scenario. Systemic approach was used to factorial analysis, for which it worked on three stages, surveying a total of 37 producers. The results were farmers with unsustainable livelihoods, physical exposure and susceptibility (poor housing, overcrowding and incomplete basic services}, socio-economic fragility (farming as the only means of income generating, under instruction and income below the crucial basket to the line of poverty in Peru). The organization is strengthened and the participation of govemment institutions is inadequate. Low yields production(0.8 L/animal/day); as a result of the sum of variables that affect the production (breeding system adopted by 79.45% were extensive, grazing feeding 67.7%, poor facilities, low health status, genetic resources (mainly Creole), inadequate reproductive management and management were incorrect). lt was concluded that actually, the livestock development level of goat breeding in Virú is low.es_PE
dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio tuvo por objetivo realizar un diagnóstico situacional de la crianza de caprinos en el distrito de Virú, región La Libertad. Se identificó, describió y analizó el escenario actual en que se encuentra ésta actividad, utilizando el enfoque sistémico con análisis factorial, para lo cual se trabajó en tres etapas, encuestando un total de 37 productores. Los resultados obtenidos fueron, capricultores con medios de vida insostenibles, exposición y susceptibilidad :fisica (precariedad de la vivienda, hacinamiento y servicios básicos incompletos), fragilidad socioeconómica (actividad agropecuaria como único medio generador de ingresos, bajo nivel instructivo e ingresos por debajo de la canasta básica vital-respecto a la línea de pobreza en el Perú). La organización no está fortalecida y la participación de las instituciones oficiales es insuficiente. Bajos rendimientos productivos (0,8 Llanimal/día); como consecuencia de la suma de variables que afectan la producción (sistema de crianza adoptado 79,45% extensivo, tipo de alimentación 67,7% pastoreo, instalaciones precarias, bajo estatus sanitario, presencia de ejemplares criollos mayoritariamente, manejo reproductivo _ inadecuado y prácticas ganaderas incorrectas). Se concluye que, a la fecha, la caprinocultura en el distrito de Virú se encuentra en un bajo nivel de desarrollo pecuarioes_PE
