Abstract
Introducción: El presente estudio fue propuesto con el objetivo de determinar la relación entre el tipo de grupo sanguíneo y nivel de severidad del COVID-19 en pacientes internados en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo. Material y Métodos: Se hizo un estudio observacional, descriptivo, correlacional, de corte transversal y retrospectivo; la muestra fue 384 historias clínicas, seleccionados mediante un muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple. Resultados: Los resultados hallados en esta investigación mostraron que el 71.4% de los pacientes que estuvieron internado por la COVID – 19 en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo tuvieron un grado de severidad moderado. El 89.1% fueron el grupo sanguíneo tipo O, donde la mayoría presento antecedentes Gineco-Obstétricos (33.3%). Además, fue el más frecuente en los pacientes fallecidos por COVID – 19. Conclusión: Se concluye, que el tipo de grupo sanguíneo NO se relacionó de manera significativa con el nivel de severidad del COVID-19 en pacientes internados en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo, marzo-noviembre 2020.
Introduction: The present research aims to determine the relationship between the type of blood group and the level of severity of COVID-19 in patients hospitalized at the Hospital Belen de Trujillo. Material and Methods: An observational, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional and retrospective study was carried out; The sample was 384 medical records, selected by means of a simple random probabilistic sampling. Results: The results found in the present research showed that 71.4% of the patients hospitalized for COVID-19 at the Hospital Belen de Trujillo had a moderate degree of severity. 89.1% were blood group type O, where the majority presented Gyneco-Obstetric history (33.3%). It was also the most frequent in patients who died from COVID-19. Conclusion: It is concluded that the type of blood group was NOT significantly related to the severity level of COVID-19 in patients hospitalized at the Hospital Belen de Trujillo, March-November 2020.
