Abstract

The Atlas-Ti 23 program was used for data processing. For its analysis, the phenomenological method of Amadeus Giorgi was used in four phases: understanding the general meaning of the discourse, coding and identifying the units of meaning, elaboration of the subcategories and the construction of the categories. In the results, three categories were found: Perception as situated knowledge, perception as interpersonal experience and perception as bodily and sensorimotor sensations, which showed how nursing professionals, despite an unfavorable environment, overcame adversities, acquired skills and knowledge to face difficult situations, providing specialized care during the COVID19 pandemic. It was concluded that nurses have a primary role in the care and application of infection prevention and control measures during the pandemic. The concern of nurses about the neglect of aspects of care due to work overload is also highlighted, as well as the challenges, strengths and resilience that nurses faced during the COVID 19 pandemic.
