Abstract
ABSTRACT The present investigation was carried out in the Regional Management of Agriculture, located in the district and province of Trujillo, with the objective of evaluating the effect of three levels of organic fertilizer on the yield and quality of Lactuca sativa L. var. Captain. The treatments consisted of 0, 8, 12 and 16 l.ha-1 of organic fertilizer for treatments T0, T1, T2 and T3, respectively. The experiment was conducted under field conditions in a randomized complete block design. The characteristics evaluated were plant length, root length, plant caliber, fresh weight, yield, number of commercial lettuces, lettuce color; obtaining positive effects of the treatments with organic fertilizer (T1, T2 and T3) on the yield and quality of lettuce, presenting significant statistical differences in plant length from 30.72 cm to 25.26 cm, root length from 12.20 cm to 7.58 cm, plant caliber from 21.10 cm to 15.25 cm, fresh weight from 1.07 kg to 0.7 kg, yield from 37324.25 kg.ha-1 to 24347.88 kg.ha-1, and quality in number of commercial lettuces from 10 to 7, lettuce color from 100% to 80%, in relation to the control. The results of the research were analyzed at 95% reliability by performing the analysis of variance and the Tuckey test. It was concluded that the organic fertilizer with the doses of 12 l.ha-1 (T2) and 16 l.ha-1 (T3) presented the best effects on the yield and quality of lettuce in Trujillo, La Libertad.
