| dc.description | Descriptive correlational research of cross-section, made at the Health Center Chequen, during the months of January to February 2017, in order to establish whether there is a relationship between types of breastfeeding and the nutritional status of infants in three To six months. The sample consisted of 171 mothers who met the inclusion criteria. The instruments used were two: The type of breastfeeding and the nutritional status of the infant from three to six months. The information obtained was processed and analyzed in the program SPSS version 19 and presented in simple and double entry absolute and percentage tables. To determine the relationship between variables, the statistical test of independence of criteria "Chi Square" was used. The results obtained indicated that 56.7% of mothers of infants aged three to six months offered exclusive breastfeeding, 25.2% a mixed breastfeeding and 18.1% an artificial breastfeeding; According to the nutritional status, 78.4% of the infants present normal nutritional status, followed by 12.8% who are overweight / obese, 7.6% are low, and only 1.2% are malnourished. | dc.description.abstract | Investigación, de tipo descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal, realizado en el Centro de salud Chequén, durante los meses de enero-febrero del 2017, con la finalidad de establecer si existe relación entre tipos de lactancia materna y el estado nutricional de los lactantes de tres a seis meses. La muestra estuvo constituida por 171 madres que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron dos: El de tipo de lactancia materna y el de estado nutricional del lactante de tres a seis meses. La información obtenida fue procesada y analizada en el programa SPSS versión 19 y presentados en tablas simples y de doble entrada absolutas y porcentuales. Para determinar la relación entre variables se utilizó la prueba estadística de independencia de criterios “Chi Cuadrado”. Los resultados obtenidos indicaron que el 56.7% de las madres de lactantes de tres a seis meses brindan una lactancia materna exclusiva, el 25.2% una lactancia mixta y el 18.1% una lactancia artificial; de acuerdo al estado nutricional el 78.4 % de los lactantes presenta un estado nutricional normal, seguido de un 12.8% que presenta sobrepeso/obesidad, el 7.6% talla baja y solo el 1.2% presenta desnutrición.
