| dc.description | The objective of this qualitative - phenomenological study was to describe and analyze the experiences of the old people with diabetes mellitus. It was developed in "Tomás Lafora de Guadalupe" hospital, the participating subjects were constituted by ten older adults, the participating subjects were constituted by ten elderly selected by saturation of the discourses of the health strategy of non-communicable diseases treated in that health establishment. For was used and the discourses obtained were classified into 3 categories recorded carefully for analysis and thus unveiling the phenomenon. The findings show that the structure of the experiences of older adults is related to the presence of negative feelings when they find out about their illness, but with the passing of time they manage to experience attitudes of acceptance, for which little by little they begin to feel how it is very important to comply with their controls and treatments, experiencing the importance of eating a balanced diet and exercise regularly. | dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio de investigación de tipo cualitativo – fenomenológico tuvo como objetivo describir y analizar las vivencias de los adultos mayores con diabetes mellitus. Se desarrolló en el Hospital Tomás Lafora de Guadalupe, los sujetos participantes estuvieron constituidos por diez adultos mayores seleccionados por saturación de los discursos de la estrategia sanitaria de enfermedades no transmisibles tratados en dicho establecimiento de salud. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó la entrevista a profundidad, donde los discursos obtenidos se clasificaron en 3 categorías registradas minuciosamente para su análisis y así develar el fenómeno. Las categorías muestran que la estructura de las vivencias de los adultos mayores está relacionada con la presencia de sentimientos negativos al enterarse de su enfermedad, pero con el trascurrir del tiempo logran vivenciar actitudes de aceptación de la misma, es así que poco a poco consideran importante el cumplimiento de los controles, tratamientos y los cambios es su estilo de vida. La enfermedad constituyó un determinante esencial para el desencadenamiento de una diversidad de sentimientos y comportamientos que fueron modificándose con el trascurrir del tiempo; lo que después de analizar las tres categorías vivenciadas nos permitió develar el fenómeno: “Aprendí a vivir con la Diabetes Mellitus”. | es_PE |
